  3 Reel Slots:

This game is, of course, played on a slot machine. The player inserts a coin into a token and pulls a lever to get the reels started. These reels have pictures painted along their sides. They are set into the machine in such a way that a small section of all three reels is visible through a window once the reels stop spinning. The player wins money or chips (essentially the same thing) if all three pictures match. Slot machines usually have three or five reels. This article will tackle the topic of slot machines in general as background, then will move on to discuss the special qualities of slots when played with three reels.

Slot machines may operate using real reels or virtual reels. In the latter version, the images of the pictures one might have seen through the window are displayed on a video screen. In the early days, when video slot machines were first introduced, many casino customers were very distrustful of them. They were not sure whether these machines operated according to “true” rules of chance. How could they be certain that the casino management had not programmed these machines to yield a huge house advantage?

Rest assured that in legitimate establishments, which are subject to strict regulation and frequent inspection, the video slot machines are programmed to run according to normal rules of chance. There should not be any significant difference between the results or wins thrown up by a video slot machine and its traditional counterpart, over time.

Actually, we might say that video slot machines are more reliable than traditional slot machines with “real” wheels. Reel wheels can wear down and stick over time, becoming less reliable. Video slot machines are not subject to that kind of wear and tear. In addition, the graphics on video slots tend to be better and more diverse.

3 Reel Slots

On the side of the casino management, video slots are easier to maintain. They can simply be reprogrammed, instead of the heavy-duty dismantling common to the maintenance of traditional slots. Therefore, it makes a great deal of sense that video slots are quickly overtaking traditional slot machines in the gambling market, despite the fact that video slots were initially relatively unpopular.

In recent years, many slot machine makers have come up with themed slot machine games. Usually, slot machines tended to portray simple pictures of fruits and graphic symbols. However, many of the newer machines can have pictures of celebrities and other amusing graphics. Even so, such graphics tend to have limited relevance. They are likely to go out of fashion in a few years. However, another good thing about video slot machines is that the graphics can be changed quite easily. The casino can change them so they are more up-to-the-minute. Even so, it appears that the simple, classic fruit designs have a timeless appeal. They are still used in many casinos, even in the most “high-tech” online gambling establishments.

For the dedicated fan of slot machines, there is really nothing like the state of mind with which a player sits down in front of a machine and begins to dole out tokens one by one. It is a state of mind both excited (you never know if you might win) and restful (the mechanics of the game are simple and repetitive). It is really not surprising that slot machines have come to be so popular in casinos all over the world.

Slot machines of any kind are some of the most accessible games in any casino. A person does not need to learn any labyrinthine dealing or betting rules in order to play. Then again, this may be precisely why some people may eventually tire of slots. The sequence of insert-coin-pull-lever-watch-reels can pale after several dozen tries. For people who like to test their wits during a game and have some more control over the outcome, a card game such as poker might be more suitable.

One of the most common types of slot machine is the three-reel slot. This can be found in both video and traditional slot machines.

3 Reel Slot

As one might expect, you are somewhat more likely to win money on a 3-reel slot machine as opposed to a 5-reel machine. It is to do with simple statistics. By increasing the number of reels, you increase the number of total outcomes, while the number of possible outcomes resulting in a win does not increase. In algebraic terms, let’s say that you have x/y chances of winning when you play slots with three reels. When you play with a machine that has five reels, your chances are x/z, and z is larger than y.

The jackpots in three-reel slots tend to be smaller, however, because the odds are more in the player’s favor. (Rule of thumb for people not used to casinos: the worse the odds are for you, the less likely you are to win, and the bigger the payout if you actually do win.) If you are only concerned with gaining the biggest reward possible, you are likely to have more fun with five-reel machines.

As in five-reel slots, there is no real “trick” or strategy to beat the machines, unless you plan to risk a lot of legal and financial trouble by hot-wiring a video slot machine. The best thing to do is to simply stick with it. Park yourself in front of a machine and keep feeding it quarters until you either win or run out of money. If you do not have a lot of time or money, such a strategy is more likely to pay off with a three-reel machine, even though the rewards might not be as huge.

In sum, there is little to differentiate three-reel slot machines from their slightly more formidable five-reeled counterparts. Both versions offer a great deal of fun for anyone, from the greenest casino newbies to the most experienced gamblers seeking a little rest from the taxing, high-octane games of poker and blackjack.

Slot machine games are great on their own, but they are even better if you take breaks and alternate them with a more complicated game. The simplicity of the slots will help you appreciate the complexity and the skill dimension of the other game, and vice versa. Whether you like three-reel slots or would prefer the riskier odds of the five-reeled version, playing with slot machines is a fun part of any casino experience.
