  Full House Bonus Poker:

Full House Bonus Poker is based on Jacks or Better. It is a Draw Poker game. As you might expect from the name, its bonus feature kicks in whenever you get a Full House. You then gain access to a bonus round that allows you to further increase the winnings you already have from the Full House alone. Unfortunately, the name also appears to refer to a video poker game that simply offers larger payments (twelve times your original bet) than usual for a Full House. If you go to a casino or gambling site offering this game, you might want to inquire as to the rules first, before you actually start playing.

Rules

As you have probably surmised from the previous section, it is going to be rather difficult talking about the rules of this game, as there appear to be multiple games bearing this name. Still, we might try to start with what they have in common as “descendants” of Jacks or Better.

Both of these games start with you inserting your coins (virtually or not) and then being given five cards. If you wish, you can discard some or all of these cards and be given new ones, in an attempt to get a better poker hand. After that substitution—assuming you have not decided to simply keep your original hand in its initial state—your final hand is assembled. Then you get a payout.

Now, here is where it gets a bit tricky. We may first try to describe the rules of the type of Full House Bonus Poker that has an additional round. Let us say that you land yourself a Full House. The machine then asks you if you would like a bonus round. The safe option is to refuse and hang on to your winnings. Otherwise, as is often the case with bonus rounds, you might lose and forfeit your winnings for that hand.

Full House Bonus Poker

Then again, there is the other purported variation, which focuses more on pay schedules rather than additional rounds. Here, you can get higher payouts for hands like Full House (of course) and Four of a Kind. However, lest you celebrate too soon at the prospect of multiple bonus hands, remember that payouts for lower-ranking hands are reduced. This means that hands that would normally get you a decent payout in other types of video poker will be hardly worth the effort here.

Types of Bets

This being a video poker game, the betting rules here are very simple. You can bet up to five coins or tokens per hand of poker. In some versions of the software, you might be able to set the value of your coins. You can choose to either play for long sessions or just play a few “quickie” games. Usually, the software allows you to alter the value of coins in case you change your mind.

Strategies

If you are playing the game with the bonus round, you might decide to just stick to standard Jacks or Better strategy, especially if you are not confident about bonus rounds. After all, as long as the bonus round does not appear, you may as well be playing Jacks or Better without any “twists.”

Full House Bonus Video Poker

If you are playing the version without the bonus round, it makes sense to aim for higher hands and be a bit more aggressive when it comes to switching cards. Once again, the payouts for lower-ranked hands are reduced, so you cannot expect to make much money off the “easy pickings.” Instead, consider expending more effort towards the capture of larger prey.

Experience

Once again, we might start by describing what these two disparate namesake-games have in common as far as playing experience goes. Both of these are solitary games. You do not interact with anyone, even a dealer. Therefore, you do not have to worry about lingering over a decision. Take as long as you like to decide whether or not to discard a particular card, for example. If you play the game at home via an Internet connection, you can also feel quite at liberty to use a strategy card. It is true that strategy cards are not necessarily prohibit at casinos, but many players do feel embarrassed about using them, or decide not to take advantage of them for whatever reason.

We must concede that Full House Bonus Poker—particularly the type in which there is a bonus round—is rather more innovative than your “typical” video poker variant that just plays with the payment schedules. An entirely new round is added, which alters the game’s structure. Given that the Full House is not all that rare, you do have a reasonable chance of accessing this feature. However, it does not surface too frequently, to the extent that the bonus feature overwhelms the main game. In other words, the designers of the game have chosen a good balance in terms of their bonus: it appears frequently enough to be important, but does not take over the game. The bonus round adds excitement and genuine novelty.

Now for the other type of Full House Bonus Poker, which does not include a bonus round. This one is a fairly decent video poker game, if not all that exciting or unusual. Here, you have several bonus hands. However, there is not much need to alter your strategy, since you would have been trying to achieve these relatively high-ranking hands anyway, whether or not they presented a bonus.

As a final note, we must reiterate that the ambiguity concerning the game’s name causes a great deal of confusion among players. It is therefore hard for them to find or share the necessary information about game play and rules. As this appears to be one of the more obscure and/or recently-invented video poker variants, information is already rather scarce. The confusion as to exactly which Full House Bonus Poker one is referring to only worsens the situation. Hopefully, this will be cleared up soon, so that the game does not lose its potential audience. Perhaps the designers might meet each other and come to an agreement about the names.
