FanDuel Inks Sports Betting Partnerships With Detroit Tigers And Red Wings

In Michigan sports betting news, FanDuel has secured partnerships with the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers. This brings the Michigan NHL and MLB teams into the fold with yet another round of sports betting partnerships.

Partnership Details

As sports betting and league partnerships go, this one doesn’t have many surprises. FanDuel Casino & Sportsbook will be featured on signage–both static and digital–at Comerica Park and Little Caesars Arena. The sportsbook will also be featured on each team’s radio network, which reach the ears of Michigan’s many sports fans.

“After a very successful launch in Michigan, we are excited to continue our momentum by partnering in this way with two of the most iconic sports organizations in the country,” said Mike Raffensperger, CMO of FanDuel Group.

These team partnerships seem like a natural next step for FanDuel. The company is already one of more than a dozen operators dubbed an MLB Authorized Gaming Operator. FanDuel is also an official sports betting partner of the National Hockey League.

FanDuel’s Michigan casino partner–MotorCity Casino in Detroit–has its own agreements in place with the Tigers and the Red Wings. Through these myriad partnerships, FanDuel will offer VIP experiences at each team’s arena once Covid-19 restrictions allow.

Michigan’s Gambling Growth

This announcement is the latest in a string of deals and news out of Michigan. The Great Lakes State has been on the fast track to becoming a leading online gambling destination since launching online casino and sports betting sites on January 22nd.

In recent weeks, Michigan has seen some big developments. Xpress Bet earned a temporary operating permit for advance deposit wagering on horse races.

The state also has online poker live, and that segment is on the rise, too. But which platform is best? One writer pits PokerStars against BetMGM Poker, and spoiler alert, there’s a clear winner.
