European rules blackjack Golden Casino game:
Golden Casino’s version of the European Blackjack is very similar to the rules of the standard European Blackjack. As similar to any Blackjack games, players compete against the dealer. European Blackjack is played on a semi-circular table, having 5 playing positions and corresponding circles for the wagers.
European Blackjack Rules
• The game is played with four 52-card jokerless decks that are housed in a “shoe”, and are shuffled after each hand.
• The value of the player’s hand must not exceed 21 in order to win, but may choose to draw as many cards as they choose. Going over 21 is a BUST, meaning the player loses the hand.
• The dealer stands on a soft or hard 17 or higher, and may draw on a soft or hard, or even lower.
• Jack, King and Queen cards have a value of ten.
• Ace cards may take the value of 1 or 11, depending on which is more beneficial to the user.
• A Blackjack is called if a player is dealt a hand with an Ace or a 10, or a face card, and thus the hand stands automatically. Players dealt a Blackjack are paid out 3 to 2.
• When a player is dealt a pair, he has the option to Split – the pair may be divided into separate hands with separate wagers.
• Blackjack is not called when a player has a pair of aces split and then draws a ten-value card. It becomes a tie, or a Push, with a value of 21 beating the dealer’s hand. This also applies to cards split with a value of ten.
• When a player split Aces, he or she only receives 1 card to complete the hand. If the second card is a 10 or a face, it is not considered a Blackjack.
• A player’s initial two cards with a value of 9, 10 or 11 are allowed to Double, or a wager that means the player’s hand will be higher than the dealer’s on the next card.
• An insurance may be purchased is the dealer’s face up card is an Ace.
