BetMGM Opens Branded Online Casino Live Dealer Studio in Michigan

A lion sits frozen in a silent roar. Gold shimmers atop a black background. Smiling croupiers greet blackjack, roulette, and baccarat players. This atmosphere in BetMGM‘s new branded live dealer studio makes Michigan online casino bettors feel as though they’re entering an MGM Resorts International retail casino.

Because today, BetMGM’s branded live dealer studio opened to gamblers.

Previously, Jersey City, NJ-based BetMGM only offered dedicated tables to its bettors. On Nov. 9, 2021, BetMGM took bets from blackjack players on two tables bearing its logo.

Before then, Jersey City, NJ-based BetMGM used the same live dealers offered by Malta-based Evolution to its other Michigan online casino clients.

That’s because, on July 22, 2021, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) began allowing operators to offer live dealer games. At the time, Evolution was the only vendor providing live dealer services to US online casinos.

Now, Evolution’s Southfield studios have competition from Playtech.

BetMGM Live Dealer Studios Have a History

The MGM Grand Detroit is a Michigan landmark.

That brand recognition may be part of why BetMGM, a joint venture between MGM and Entain, can boast of being the No. 1 online casino in Michigan. BetMGM Casino holds 39% of the market share in the state.

Without dedicated tables, Evolution would sometimes have to turn away BetMGM customers if there were no available seats at the shared tables. That was unacceptable for a company in BetMGM’s position, which is why it has gone to this expense.

Branded Live Dealer Helps With Brand Differentiation

BetMGM leaders already knew they could create a better playing experience. After all, the brand already had dedicated studios in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Evolution also operates those studios.

In today’s announcement, BetMGM Gaming Director Oliver Bartlett said:

This beautiful, new studio enhances BetMGM’s live casino experience in Michigan and deepens our partnership with Evolution. Inspired by the MGM Resorts brand, the studio is adorned with the iconic golden lion and the familiar black and gold BetMGM color scheme. We’re confident that it will amplify our market-leading casino offering in Michigan.

Jeff Millar, Evolution’s North American commercial director, said:

We’re thrilled that BetMGM has again entrusted Evolution with providing a full dedicated studio solution, powered by our technology. As we set out to create a unique feel that players would love, the BetMGM studio in Michigan is one of the grandest we’ve built.

The grandest live dealer studio being near the MGM Grand Detroit? Perhaps that’s a perfect fit.
