A $300 million venue, called Tribal Winds Casino, has been authorized by the US Department of Interior, meaning there will be three Connecticut casino resorts. It will be located in East Windsor and was expected to open some time in 2020 or 2025, however the project has stalled. It is a joint venture between the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut.

1939 Charitable bingo was legalized in the state. Bazaars and raffles were then legalized in 1955.
1971 Horse racing and off-track betting were legalized in 1971, as was the state lottery. The first lottery tickets went on sale the year after.
1986 The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation opened a high-stakes bingo parlor, which was the first tribal gambling venue to open in the state. Table games were added in 1992 and slot machines were added in 1993.
1996 The second casino in Connecticut is opened by the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut. The two casinos in the state now pay 25% of their winnings to the state in taxation.
There are no upcoming changes to gambling regulation at the moment. There is a strong movement for the legalization of online gambling in Connecticut though.
