Michigan State to Score Points in Every Quarter (+100) Max Bet: $10

Analysis: The Spartans’ weakness is their porous defense, which has allowed an average of 36.5 points in their last two games. Still, the Spartans are favored by more than 12 points in this matchup against Maryland, who scares you more on the hardwood of the basketball court than on the gridiron. Thus far in conference play, the Terrapins have surrendered 66 points to Ohio State and 51 to Iowa. This Saturday it will be tough for Maryland to stave off the rugged MSU ground attack, but if we learned anything from the Spartans’ loss last Saturday to Purdue: Michigan State is never a sure thing.

Penn State to Score the First Points of the game (+100) Max Bet: $25

Analysis: Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has his team on track to get to the final weekend of the regular season playing for the Big Ten East title if OSU does him a favor and topples MSU next weekend in Columbus. The Wolverines have been Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde this season punishing teams they should beat, winning challenging road games, but once again losing a rivalry game and disappearing offensively for quarters at a time.

Earlier this year, Ohio State showed the blueprint for beating Penn State: Throw the football downfield and fluster the inexperienced Nittany Lions secondary. Look for Harbaugh, who is still a QB at heart, to send his team to the air to beat Penn State on the road.

Detroit Lions at Pittsburgh Steelers; Sunday, 1 p.m.

Lions to Score a Touchdown & Field Goal in the 1st Half (+200) Max Bet: $25

Analysis: There’s probably very little about this game that will be entertaining for Lions fans, so why not lay some money down on a prop bet? Otherwise, your hopes are on the Detroit coaching staff to have a stealthy game plan coming out of a bye week to knock off favored Pittsburgh in a “trap game.” Most likely, the Lions will struggle to stop the Steelers in the air and on the ground, and find themselves staring at an 0-9 mark.

After a shaky start to their season, the Steelers are grinding again under coach Mike Tomlin, who never gets too high nor too low. Pittsburgh has won four straight games, three of them at home. Their offense is doing just enough, and the Steeler defense is typically tough and creates opportunities to get the ball for the offense.
