White Hat Slots Appear at a Second Michigan Online Casino

Michigan slots fans with an interest in trying new slots from White Hat Studios now have more options. Golden Nugget Online Casino is the second online casino operator in the state to go live with games newcomer slots developer.

White Hat made its US debut in July, choosing Michigan as its launchpad. At the time, there were just two games up and running, both at BetMGM Casino

It was always a sure thing that other casinos would follow suit. In fact, White Hat had deals in place with multiple operators well before its launch. It announced its partnership with Golden Nugget all the way back in March.

Just as BetMGM did, Golden Nugget has added two White Hat slots to its catalog to start with. More should be coming soon, as the studio has several dozen in its repertoire. Although White Hat Gaming has only had a content division for about a year, it established the division through the acquisition of Blueprint Gaming, and thus had the latter’s portfolio as a starting point.

The two initial slots available at Golden Nugget are Rolling in Gold and Ted. The former was also one of the first two for BetMGM, while the latter is a licensed slot based on the movie of the same name.

Featured White Hat Studios Game: Ted

TV Streak is one of the Ted slot's many features

If you haven’t seen the movie, Ted is the story of a boy named John, and his teddy bear who has come to life. Except that the boy isn’t a boy anymore, he’s a grown man, and Ted has become an immature, irresponsible and hedonistic friend whose antics jeopardize John’s other relationships.

It was the directorial debut for Seth MacFarlane, who also provides the voice for Ted. Audio clips of MacFarlane as Ted feature prominently in White Hat’s slots rendition of the story. For instance, when you’ve hit two of three Scatter symbols and are spinning for the third, you might hear:

Put it in your basket, come on!

And then, if you miss:

You’ve got a lot of problems, don’t you?

To say Ted is “loaded with features” would be understating it. It might better be described as a feature salad, though you might not get that impression from your first few spins.

It has a standard 5×3 layout, a decent-enough 20 paylines and a normal number of symbols, including the ubiquitous Wild and Scatter.

Ted Slot Bonus Features

It’s Ted himself who provides the features, however. Initially asleep on the couch at the bottom of the screen, he will occasionally leap up to trigger one of several bonuses:

  • Extra Wilds
  • Extra Scatters
  • Added Mystery symbols
  • Reshuffle a winning spin, adding the prizes together
  • Respin to accumulate more winning symbols (as shown in the screenshot)

If you manage to hit three or more of those Scatter symbols, you’ll play a bonus game in which you can win… one of five other bonus games. Each of these has its own rules, too long to explain here.

Some of the bonus games are better than others, however. You’ll have the choice of taking the one you get or risking it to try to upgrade to a better one. All the lesser games include the opportunity to potentially trigger the best one of all, the Ted Big Money Bonus.

Although there’s a lot that can happen, not much of it happens on the reels themselves. That keeps the experience manageable. You won’t be struggling to follow the action, just spinning and hoping to see Ted wake up or for three Scatters to land. What happens after that can be complicated, but whatever it is will likely result in some cash coming your way.

What Other White Hat Slots are Available in Michigan?

Golden Nugget players probably won’t have to wait long to see more slots from White Hat. After all, BetMGM also started with two, less than two months ago, and already has well over a dozen.

This now includes Ted and its variant Ted Megaways. Most excitingly, it includes the Jackpot Royale series of linked progressive jackpot slots.

These games offer the potential to win very large prizes because the jackpots grow every time anyone takes a spin on any Jackpot Royale slot. Better yet, White Hat Studios has committed to launching a new title in the series every month.

At the moment, BetMGM’s lineup of Jackpot Royale games is as follows:

  • Almighty Buffalo
  • Almighty Griffin
  • Almighty Sevens
  • Genie Wishmaker
  • Irish Riches
  • Paws of Fury
  • Sausage Party
  • Thriller Gorilla
  • Worms Reloaded

Play Jackpot Royale slots at BetMGM for a shot at six-figure payouts!

It feels likely that these will be among the titles Golden Nugget adds as well. Furthermore, White Hat has deals in place with FanDuel Casino, DraftKings Casino and Eagle Casino & Sportsso expect to see some of these slots appear at those online casinos as well.
