Super Bowl 2021 Best Bets

Run Pat Run!

Pick: Total Sacks Over 4: -120

(via PointsBet Sportsbook)

  • The Chiefs are missing Eric Fisher, their best offensive lineman. Mitchell Schwartz, their right tackle is also out with an injury. These are huge losses, the Buccaneers have one of the best defensive lines in the NFL and Shaquille Barrett had three sacks last week alone.

Pick: Patrick Mahomes Anytime Touchdown +300

(via BetMGM Sportsbook)

  • These odds are excellent for Mahomes. Most sportsbooks have it around +250 so it is important to always check multiple books. Mahomes will be running around like crazy. Bet Mahomes to get in the end zone, his running backs are nearly non-existent.

Pick: Over .5 Sack Jason Pierre-Paul +135

(via BetMGM Sportsbook)

  • Pat will be running! Pierre-Paul and tackle Mike Remmers have been sending verbal insults at each other throughout the week. Pierre-Paul has playoff experience from his time with the Giants. I would expect Pierre-Paul to get at least and at plus money is excellent!

Playoff Lenny!

Pick: Leonard Fournette Over 25.5 receiving yards (+100), Over 48.5 rushing yards (-106), Over 78.5 total yards (-112)

(via DraftKings Sportsbook)

Fournette last 3 games:

Conference Championship @ Packers: 55 yards rushing 19 yards receiving

Divisional Round @ Saints: 63 rushing yards 44 yards receiving

Wild Card Round @ Washington: 93 yards rushing 39 yards receiving

  • Three bets on one player! Fournette has been phenomenal in the playoffs and has taken control of the backfield. His usage rates are excellent and the Chiefs badly struggle to stop the run ranking near the bottom of the NFL in run defense.

Live Betting Notes

Live Bet The Over?

Stat: The total of 56 is one of the largest in Super Bowl history. It is important to recognize that the last several Super Bowls have had low scoring first quarters. For reference, only one Super Bowl has gone over ten points in the first quarter in the last ten years. Furthermore, three of the last four Brady Super Bowls have had zero points scored in the first quarter. He does not take chances, he plays the field position battle early. Different team but the same quarterback.

Note: If the game is off to a slow start in the first quarter, the over is the play here. If the first quarter is nearly over and the score is 3-0 or 7-0, I would take a look at the over. I would project the total to drop in this scenario to around 51.5 total points. If this is the case, I would expect a lot of second-half points to be scored.

Chiefs Live Late?

Stat: Patrick Mahomes is going to be pressured throughout this game. According to Pro Football Focus, the Kansas City Chiefs are going to be missing their top two offensive linemen in Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz. If the game is going the way Tampa Bay wants, they will be running the ball with Leonard Fournette and playing keep away. Should that be the case, this sets us up for an excellent finish late in the game.

Note: As the game gets close down the stretch, it would seem to be favor Patrick Mahomes, the superior thrower. Should the Buccaneers score a late touchdown to go up with around two minutes to play, I would seriously consider betting the Chiefs especially if it is plus money.
